A Bit About Me
REGGIE O. CRUZ, EdD, PhD
He is currently the Dean of the Institute of Professional Teacher Education and Concurrent Junior High School Principal of Mary the Queen College, Pampanga. He is also a Commissioner for Kapampangan Language of Komisyon sa Wikang Filipino, Office of the President. He earned a Doctor of Philosophy Major in Filipino Language at Lyceum-Northwestern University (2022); a Doctor of Education Major in Educational Management at Tarlac State University (2016); a Master of Arts in Education Major in Filipino at Angeles University Foundation (2013); and a Bachelor of Secondary Education Major in Filipino at Holy Angel University (2006). He is an active Licensed Professional Teacher (LPT) and Certified Human Resource Professional (CHRP). He is currently taking a Post-Doctoral Diploma in Quality Management at Centro Escolar University.

Dr. Cruz is a published book author in the fields of action research, literature, Filipino language, and educational management. He has translated numerous works from Kapampangan to Filipino through the Tuglung: Kapampangan Journal. A strong advocate of Kapampangan literature, he was commended by the local government of Angeles City as the adviser of the first School of Economics paper written in Kapampangan and the first school hymn written in Kapampangan.

He is a researcher and resource speaker specializing in education and language in both Filipino and Kapampangan. His research excellence has been recognized in various institutions, including the Department of Education Region III (Senior High School Teaching Category – Best Paper and Best Oral Presenter, 2018), University of Saint Louis Tuguegarao (Best Presenter, 2019), Asia Pacific Association Educators Training Institute (Best Paper, 2019), and Philippine Normal University (Pinakamahusay na Abstrak, 2023).

In recognition of his contributions to Filipino and Kapampangan languages, he was awarded the Pambansang Ulirang Guro sa Filipino by the Komisyon sa Wikang Filipino in 2018. He was also a Finalist for Most Outstanding Kapampangan in the Field of Education (2019) and received honoris causa distinctions: Doctor of Humanities (2019) and Doctor of Pedagogy (2021) from universities in Haiti and the USA.

Currently, Dr. Cruz teaches in the Graduate School – Master of Arts in Education Program at Bataan Peninsula State University, Republic Central Colleges, and Central Mindanao Colleges. He actively participates in cultural and professional organizations, serving as Secretary of Akademyang Kapampangan (2022–present) and Vice President of the Asian Society for Productivity and Innovation in Research and Education. As a cultural worker, he continues to lead projects in translation, webinars, and training programs promoting the Kapampangan language and literature.
